Throughout our lives we experience moments of progress. Our civil liberties are gained through the passion, commitment and courage of folks fighting for our basic human rights. The laws and the country are changed…for a time. Like a pendulum we are in a moment of regress. Rights are being stripped away, day-by-day, state-by-state and what millions of people fought so hard for seems to be quickly slipping away. But the pendulum can and will swing towards progress again. With your help, through your activism and involvement, we will continue the march towards progress.

Forward! Marches That Move Us  is a call to action. It is both an art exhibition and an online march and social media movement. We are asking the community to share their story by utilizing the hashtag #MarchesThatMoveUs on Instagram and tagging our Instagram page (@MarchesThatMoveUs).

In conjunction with this movement there will be an exhibition opening at Blue Star Complex in September 2019. The exhibition will include the artwork of eleven local artists: Jenelle Esparza, Jose Villalobos, Anel I. Flores, Cruz Ortiz, Suzy González, Michael Martínez, Jennifer Khoshbin, Jonathan Treviño, Anne Wallace, Katie Pell, Nadia Botello.

This exhibition is organized by Ethel Shipton and Casie Lomeli in collaboration with Planned Parenthood of South Texas.
